MixxMachine Studio 1.3

19.07.2012 11:35:49

MixxMachine Studio 1.3 is a bugfix release with various minor issues being resolved per-platform. This release is a big deal for Symbian users because 1.2 release was hidered by a mess with Nokia UIDs. If you are Symbian user and upgrading, read the FAQ page.

MixxMachine Studio 1.2

01.03.2012 01:20:46

MixxMachine Studio 1.2 is now in QA and should be available for purchase and update over the next few days.

Our monthly release for February comes with a slew of new features. Read on for details.

Effects

The 1.2 comes with six effects: Delay, Phaser, Fuzz, MoogVCF, EQ3 and Parametric EQ. Effects can be organised in four sets (send lines) of three effects each. Each set has separate "dry" and "wet" volume and balance controls.

Automation

Automation allows automating changes to various parameters (e.g. volume/balance, effect params). Automation has been initially implemented per-beat and on the Pattern scope. This is a first incarnation so perhaps this will evolve into ability to control every parameter at every scope.

Extra sample pack

MixxMachine Studio 1.2 comes with additional sample pack (NuBase) containing around 200 samples. Highlights are multisampled Fender Telecaster guitar, Grand piano and a good range of beats and samples.

Performance options

Playback sample rate control - lower live sample rate enables devices with even slow CPUs to run smoothly. This is particularly useful with effects and increasing demand for polyphony.

MixxMachine Studio 1.2 will be provided as a free update and should hit app stores in the next few days.

MixxMachine Studio 1.1 development is well under way! Our monthly release for January will include at least following additional features (probably more!):

Export to WAV / AIFF

This seems to have been the most requested feature so far and our top priority.

Piano / Keyboard screen improvements

Improved pattern editing for instruments makes for much more enjoyable song editing experience. In v1.1, the keyboard will pop up automatically and will include pattern buttons for easy editing.

Drum Machine 1.6 - startup problems resolved

19.07.2011 02:11:39

Drum Machine 1.6 for Symbian^3 is now available for download via Ovi Store.

A number of users have contacted us to let us know about problems with new Nokia firmwares. It appears that a recent update to Qt runtime was causing the application to fail to start. The change was subtle and very difficult to track down, especially with a variety of devices and ROMs being used.

The good news is - we have a fix, now released as Version 1.6 for Symbian^3 which is immediately available in Ovi store. Updated build will soon be available for Symbian^1 devices, although there were no reports of problems on this platform yet.

We can only apologise for the problems and the delay. If you have issues updating, please check this support page.

Drum Machine 1.3 available in Ovi

02.05.2011 23:29:41

Drum Machine 1.3 is now available for download via Ovi Store. Version 1.3 was primarily released to address performance issues on old phones and fix some bugs. In any event, 1.3 proudly carries new mixer/renderer tandem which will enable future versions to mix much more than drum samples. And, you can also pump up the volume some 20dB over what v1.2 could do.

The work is now on towards the next update. Watch this space.
